So turning turbo boost off and overclocking puts all 4 cores at 4.4 GHz of my understanding? I think that's what Al Suite 3 also does. Turbo boost increases frequency depending on how many active cores one have. So i think Al suite 3 turns off turbo boost and increases the frequency on all cores to 4.4 Ghz, instead of 4.4 Ghz with turbo boost. From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration > BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) > Performance Options > Intel (R) Turbo Boost. The reason i think Al Suite 3 turns of turbo boost is because i get a little bit higher scores in CPU benchmarks compared to the reviews (stock frequency).
Because i think Al Suite 3 turns off turbo boost. The reason i want to switch it off is to se if the there is any difference between auto overclock in Al Suite 3 to 4.4 Ghz (i had the option to overclock to 4.4, 4.6 and 4.8 Ghz), vs overclock in bios to 4.4 Ghz with turbo boost turned off and see if there is any performance difference. When your PC comes back up, Turbo Boost will be enabled. Press Esc and then follow the on-screen instructions to restart. It is best to set clock frequency in Bios manually. The exact key to press should appear at the bottom of the BIOS. Turbo boost I believe is the default in Bios 4.4GHz for the i7 4790k (what is your CPU?) and can be turned on in AISuite too.
